We got our final Occupancy Permit from the county today - yay!

We Are Home

We got our occupancy permit today - hurray!  After driving this project for two and a half years as the Project Manager / Construction Liaison, and with the help and hard work and many hours of several folks, there is now a beautiful building for the UUFF to call HOME.  It will require much care and love that I know it will find from the loving people who have dreamed of this.  See you all on Sunday, April 29th at 11am for our inaugural service with Rev Walter Braman.

Not Opie, like the boy on the Andy Griffith Show. OP, as in Occupancy Permit.  It is coming soon.  We are planning to have our first event there this Saturday night - the 19th Annual At Your Service Auction!  Whoo-hoo.
And FIRST SERVICE on 29 April at 11am.  It will be a memorable event.

Moving in slowly

Thanks to all who helped move some of our "stuff" into the building on Saturday.  We can move in stuff, but we won't be meeting there until we have the OP - Occupancy Permit.  Could happen any time after 15 April.  Be ready for a celebration!


Thanks to all those working so hard on the landscaping.  What wonderful trees and such we have.  And the care and watering efforts are surely noticed too.  Thank you all!!

Places to sit

Isn't it beautiful?  We are getting closer to moving in for sure.  Final touch ups, two more inspections next week.  Stay tuned!

Outdoor work

Painting in the parking lot looks good.
Still more outdoor work to be done this week.  Curbs to be set, grass pavers for the fire truck trek, signs, bushes, etc.
Next week things will really be coming together!

Paving

Most of the paving was completed today.  Painting stripes tomorrow.  Fixing office park spots on Monday.  (Staying off of it until Tues.)

First Service in Our New Home

We are ON TRACK to have our first service on either 29 April or 6 May.  Obviously, sooner is better for us. Watch for an update soon.

Don't worry about the rain this week.  We should have the pavement in by the end of the week.  Still have some work to do after that with striping, etc.  Some final paperwork, and we are IN!

YAY to everyone who has lent their time and energy to this awesome endeavor!

Some Landscaping

Great to see so many folks come out and help with the tree preparation and planting!  Thanks to you ALL, there were 80 trees planted.  Nice job.

 Stay tuned, as the weather might cooperate soon to put in the parking lot.  Until then, the final touches are being done inside the building.

 

What a great spring!

Getting close!

Things are really coming together!  Check out the photos.  Many things falling into place this week and next.  Nice color on the doors, eh?  The door shown is open to the admin office.  Sinks are ready to be installed when we get the counter tops next week.  Money for the stove was graciously donated by an anonymous angel.
And ALL THE CHAIRS ARE SOLD!  YAY!  So glad we can pay for our floors now.  Rest assured, though, if you'd still like to make a donation (cash), we will find a way to put your name on a chair if you like.

Time to Put in the Floors

I have 9 of us signed up for cleaning on Saturday.  We can put some more able bodies to work cleaning the concrete so that the tile floors can go in well next week.  Please send me a note or comment here if you can help out.  We need brooms, shop vacuums, industrial mops, water (it is not on yet in the building) and your energy!

Still wet in early Feb

Still too much rain.  Do the "no rain" dance, if you can.

 The trim is up.  Final paint will be before you know it!

The kitchen is shaping up nicely (on a shoestring.)

Electric, Painting, Etc

Definite progress here. Even delivered the cabinets for the island in the kitchen.  First coats of paint are on, but not the final.  

Nice looking trim work going in now.

We will probably clean before the floors are installed.

Progress 14 January

The mud and tape work looks about done.  And I believe the cement work is about complete too.  90-14 >> about 76 days!  Getting there quickly now! 

Clean Sweep

Ah, the diligent workers.  Thank you!!  You got the place cleaned up nicely last weekend.

Much drywall has been hung - about half.
Floor sweeping next Sunday will include more mess from hanging, taping, mudding, etc.  Exciting stuff!
